Anniversary of the arrival of the first transport of Warsaw Insurgents to Stalag 344 Lamsdorf is approaching
Preparations are ongoing to commemorate the arrival of the first transport of Warsaw Insurgents to Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. To mark this event a ceremony will take place on 6 October at 11.00 a.m. in front of the Monument to the Warsaw Insurgents – POWs of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf in Łambinowice. In relation to it, yesterday (27 September), a group of young people, teachers and representatives of the Museum visited the Warsaw Rising Museum.
The purpose of the visit was to get familiar with the museum exposition. A crucial part of the visit was a meeting with Wanda Traczyk-Stawska, a soldier of the Home Army, Warsaw insurgent, POW of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, who supports us in our educational and popularizing activity. Both the visit to the museum and the conversation with the veteran intended to prepare the students for Oxford debates, and were – after the visit to the Museum and the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice – the next stage of the project "War, Captivity and Duels on Words".
