Polish-American Foundation for the Commemoration of POW Camps in Szubin has been active since 2018. It was established as a result of the many-year cooperation of the inhabitants of the place and descendants of the American POWs who were detained here during the Second World War. The mission of the Foundation is popularization of the fates of POWs of the Allied Forces, interned by the Wehrmacht, who were aided by Polish inhabitants of Szubin and the environs. The organization carries out this mission by conducting scientific research, running educational and commemorative activities. The Foundation makes efforts to establish a museum on the grounds of the former POW camps – Stalag XXI B, Oflag XXI B and Oflag 64.
