Center of Culture in Dobiegniewo – Museum of Woldenberg Prisoners of War
Museum of Woldenberg POWs was established in 1987. Since 2022 it has functioned within the Center of Culture in Dobiegniewo. The founders of the Museum were former POWs of Oflag II C Woldenberg, with the intention to document and popularize their fates – to testify to their history. The institution was organized in one of the best preserved buildings of the camp, which was renovated and rebuilt in the years 2020-2022. The collection of the Museum comprises mainly remnants of the camp and mementoes donated by the former POWs. The activity of the institution includes organization of exhibitions, workshops, contests, occasional ceremonies. The Museum cooperates with the Association of Woldenberg Prisoners of War which associates families of Polish officers interned in Oflag II C Woldenberg.
