The Memory, Education, Culture Foundation

The Foundation manages the European Centre Memory, Education, Culture which was established in 2015 in Koźlice on the grounds of the former Stalag VIII A Görlitz. The Foundation itself has functioned since 2002, realizing various conceptions that serve to retain the memory of the camp and building a specific dimension of this place in the historical consciousness of societies living in the Polish-German-Czech frontier. In this way, it supports the development of the region, strengthens the process of Polish-German reconciliation as well as disseminates the idea of European commonwealth. The Foundation organizes meetings, exhibitions, concerts, workshops and anniversary celebrations. As the host of the Centre, it is responsible for maintenance of the building and the remains of Stalag VIII A Görlitz. This is mainly executed in cooperation with the Association Meetingpoint Memory Messiaen e.V. based in Görlitz.
