The last pandemic restrictions have been lifted

As of today, 28 March, there is no longer a legal obligation to cover mouth and nose in the Museum as in any other buildings. Earlier, on March 1, other restrictions and limits as to the number of people who could attend meetings, were also lifted. These rules were laid down in the regulation of the Council of Ministers of 25 March 2022 on the establishment of certain restrictions, orders and bans in connection with the occurrence of the epidemic.

The sanitary restrictions, which significantly limited activities, inter alia, of cultural institutions, were in force since March 12, 2020. Museums had been closed for the public, as well as it was banned to enter the site of national remembrance. Thankfully, since April 20, 2020, it was again possible to go to forests, visit parks and gardens, i.e. also the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, but at a minimum distance of 2 metres and wearing masks was compulsory. The reopening of the Museum to visitors, still with many restrictions in place, did not take place until  May 18 – after 66 days! Remote working and online events then became the new everyday routine.

During those 2 years and 16 days, our staff had to adjust functioning our institution to dynamically changing rules on prevention against COVID-19. As of today, masks, among others, are not longer obligatory to wear in the buildings of the Museum. However, that does not mean the pandemic is gone, and we will (only) recommend maintaining certain measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
