“Powsinogi” in Łambinowice

Visits pay to the Museum and the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice by the 107th Scout Troop “Powinogi” are customary now, and they always bring huge satisfaction to the Museum staff. That was the case today, i.e. on Saturday 26 March.

About 20 scouts, in the care of Rafał Jankowski, who is an instructor of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP) and also a geography teacher, visited the permanent exhibitions in the Łambinowice seat of our Museum, followed a trip to the former camp ground and the war cemeteries on bikes rented from us, to get familiar with the site of remembrance. The visit was the opportunity to see the latest exhibition Place with a scar, showed by Dominik Hadas from the Department of Education and Exhibitions.

It is worth mentioning that the 107th Scout Troop "Powsinogi" was founded by leader Stanisław Jacek Chlebda (died in 2017), who was an educator and social activist, and who cooperated with our institution for many years. He was also the author of the "Ballad of Lambinowice" sung by the scouts, and the son of a prisoner-of- war.
