Ring from the handle of a toothbrush. Film premiere!

The last Monday of September – as has been announced before – is the day of premier of another, the ninth instalment of the film series ....but that’s a different story now. This time it is a story about a collection of unique jewellery made in German captivity.

In the storyline of the film, important parts are played by three characters. They are James C. Craig, the New Zealand prisoner-of-war in Stalag VIII B (344) Lamsdor and the maker of the eponymous ring, and Lynda Hill, his daughter, who decided to donate the invaluable memorabilia of his father to the Museum. Also, it is worth to highlight the engagement of Dr. Anna Wickiewicz, head of Department of Education and Exhibitions and a researcher of fates of the British POWs in Lamsdorf. It is her account of the events related to this exceptional jewellery’ collection, that complements the film.

The series was prepared at the end of 2020 thanks to the "Culture Available" programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The idea, according to the concept of Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, was realized by Sławomir Mielnik.

You are welcome to watch the film!
