General Meeting of the Association of Friends of the CMJW

On Tuesday (21 September), the General Meeting of the Association of Friends of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War took place at the Opole seat of the Museum.

The Board of the Association submitted a substantive report and financial statements of its activity in the years 2017-2020. It included supporting the activity of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in the field of education and popularisation of the POW subject, as well as commemoration of the victims of the Lamsdorf/Łambinowice camps and care of the memorial site. The tasks were performed using funds obtained from subsidies, donations from companies and private persons, membership fees and 1% income tax deduction.

The participants also listened to the information provided by the President of the Association (Iwona Konopnicka) about the activities of the Board in the current year, and by the Director of the CMJW (Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska) about the activities of the institution in 2020 and plans for 2021.

An important point of the meeting was the election of the Board and the Audit Committee for the term 2021-2024. Re-elected to the Board were: Iwona Konopnicka (President), Edwarda Turkiewicz (Deputy President), Agnieszka Lechun (Treasurer), Renata Kobylarz-Buła (Secretary), Jerzy Krasnodębski (Member). The composition of the Commission included: Przemysław Jagieła (Chairman), Maria Elżbieta Zglińska (Secretary), Ryszard Czerwiński (Member).
