Exhibition opening in hall of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland

From Tuesday, 29 November 2022, at the main hall of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland is presented our exhibition "The end and the beginning. The Warsaw Insurgents in the German captivity", which was made as part of the project "Freedom is in them. Warsaw insurgents 1944-2022". Today, at noon., its official opening took place.

The opening was attended by representatives of politics and culture, as well as  families of prisoners-of-war, and young people.

The guests were welcomed by Violetta Porowska, a sitting MP for the Opole land. She expressed huge satisfaction of the fact that the CMJW's exhibition on display in the Parliament. Next, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, director of the Museum, spoke about our institution's interest in the subject of the uprising, and Dr. Piotr Stanek, head of the Research Department, responsible for the concept and scenario of the exhibition, gave an extensive and interesting presentation of its content. The floor was also given to guests. Wanda Traczyk-Stawska spoke about the uniqueness of the POW status of women and the fact of equal rights for male and female soldiers in captivity. Marcin Łada of the Polish Reserve Officers' Association thanked the director for her cooperation and announced that Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska had been awarded the 'Serve Patriae' Cross of Merit of the Polish Reserve Officers' Association. The award was given by the President of the Association, Colonel Alfred Kabata. The opening was also an opportunity to hand over to the Museum POW memorabilia by families of POWs.

The exhibition will be on display in the building of the Polish Sejm (Warsaw, Wiejska St. 4/6/8, ground floor of building C-D) until 3 December 2022.
