76 years ago broke out the uprising in Warsaw

In October 1944, a group of 6 thousand of Warsaw insurgents came Stalag 344 Lamsdrof. Among them, there were officers, noncommission officers and privates but also women and underage youth, who the youngest defenders of the capital. For most of them, Lamsdorf was just a temporary stop. Soon,  they were taken to other camps in the heart of Germany.

On the 76th anniversary of the outbreak of the Uprising, we would like to embrace the memory of them in a very special way. We laid down flowers and lit candles by the Monument of Warsaw Insurgents – Prisoners-of-War of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf.

There are not too many material traces left after the insurgents-POWs of Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. What is left consists: photographs, personal documents or items created in captivity.
