Now you can register for the educational session If not memory, then what? Education at places of national remembrance. Its 17the edition, entitled To understand the war, is scheduled for 10 July 2022, at the Municipal Public Library in Opole, 4 Minorytów Street. As part of it, there will take place the final of the 14^th edition of the national competition for historical project Before it’s not too late.

The organisers of this year’s session, i.e. the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War and the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Opole, assume that intellectual guides of the youngest generation cannot run away from what is emotionally and cognitively difficult. Therefore, it is necessary, among other things, to make an attempt to find universal features of various armed conflicts. This will be done by practitioners specializing in pedagogy (Dr. Adam Konopnicki and Zuzanna Nierenberg, MA), psychology (Dr. Ewa Woydyłło-Osiatyńska), military science (Staff Sergeant Major Stanisław Gaweł), sociology (Dr. Anna Czerner), museum education (Dr. Anna Wickiewicz and Dr. Ewelina Klimczak), and humanitarian activities (Janina Ochojska, MA).

The session will be opened at 10.00 a.m. by the director of the Museum, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, and the director of the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences, Prof. Edward Nycz of the Opole University. In the second part of the session, at 1.30 p.m., will be announced the results of the 14^th edition of the national competition for historical project Before it’s not too late.
