Work begins on a film about the ‘Science for Society...’ project

Works are underway on a film about a new research project of the Museum. Filming has started in Opole and tomorrow will be continued in Łambinowice.

The producer of the film is Daniel Frymak, a renowned photographer and winner of many competitions such as The National Geographic Poland Award, BZ WBK Press Photo, Leica Street Photo or Gdańsk Press Photo. His works have been published in several magazines, including the German “Stern” and the Polish “Duży Format”.

The main purpose of the film is popularisation of the recently initiated research works at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, which are conducted in three areas: archaeology, history and ethnography. Also, the film will present our Museum about mission of which will tell the workers themselves, who are engaged on a daily basis in collecting, documenting and making available to their contemporaries the complicated  history of the remembrance site and the tragic fate of soldiers in German and Soviet captivity.

As early as September one can get familiar with a short version of the film which serves as promotional material on the project. The final work, on the other hand, will have to wait until the second half of 2024, i.e. until the completion of the project entitled 'Science for society, society for science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice'.
