Winter break at the Museum

During the January-Fabruary period of this year, a two-week school winter holiday will take place in across Polish schools, although at different times. Due to the financial situation, as well parents' work commitments, the winter holiday is not always possible to be fully exploited. That is why we have organised forms of activities at hand.

Having such activities in mind - to be conducted at schools, community centres or winter camps – we have prepared an offer which will enrich winter break programmes for children and young people with an interesting dose of history. In the Opole seat of the Museum, young people will be taken care by guides who will show them the following exhibitions: 'The Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice - the regional, national, European heritage' and 'The last resident of Lubomirski Palace. General Mieczysław Smorawiński'. They will also have an opportunity to participate in workshops related to the life of the General Smorawiński and how it was to live in the pre-war Poland. At the same time, in Łambiowice, alongside visiting the Site of National Remembrance and the educational exposition Place with a Scar, we offer not-so-usual workshops, because hold partially among the open-air exhibition features. Both programmes – Opole and Łambinowice alike – will be carried out from 15 to 30 January 2024.

There is a third offer to take advantage of, from 15 January to 29 February 2024, which includes free of charge educational classes entitled: Freedom. Do I really "love and understand" it?, to be conducted online via Microsoft Teams.

Booking can be made at the Department of Education and Exhibitions by phone: 77 434 34 75, or via e-mail: .

A detailed description of the offer is attached.
