What next? Talks on the discovery at the Old Prisoners-of-War Cementary

After the September meeting with representatives of the Italian Embassy in Warsaw, another meeting - this time in a wider circle - took place yesterday, on 18 October, at the Museum in Łambinowice. This is good news indicating an interest in the outcome of the archaeological work in the context of its continuation, as well as the organisation of a burial with dignity of the remains revealed in July this year.

During the meeting, the Italian side was represented by representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Italian Republic and the Embassy in Warsaw, while the Polish side was represented by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Institute of National Remembrance, and the Łambinowice Commune. The talks were coordinated, and the visit to the Old POW Cemetery in Łambinowice was guided, by Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, while the introduction the visitors to the issues and results of the "Science for Society. Society for Science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice" project was given by its manager, Dr. Dawid Kobiałka.

There was also time for a moment of silence, the laying of a wreath and a prayer for the perished prisoners-of-war at the burial site of Italian soldiers in the Old POW Cemetery.
