Webinar for teachers

Today's webinar, organized by the Museum's staff in cooperation with the District Teacher Training Centre in Wodzisław Śląski (PODN), was attended by history teachers. A wide range of issues were covered, via MS TEAMS, under the common motto Traditionally and Digitally. Education in the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War.

The participants of the online training were welcomed by Dr. Anna Wickiewicz, head of the Education and Exhibitions Department, who invited them to see a short film about the Museum and the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. The main part of the course consisted of presentations by: Dr. Ewelina Klimczak – Some considerations by an educator on what students know and what they should know, Dr. Anna Czerner – The question of participation of children in the Warsaw Uprising in education and (pop)culture, Monika Sobczak – How do we teach about the Katyn Massacre? Methods, conclusions, statistics, and Dr. Anna Wickiewicz – Formation of social competences in educational projects of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War. Recent experiences. The meeting concluded with a discussion.

It has been already the second webinar organized jointly with the PODN in Wodzisław Śląski. The previous one was held in November 2020. Both of them were coordinated by Marcin Kopczyński from the PODN.
