‘We were here’ audio drama

The extended project entitled ‘Reverberations 1944. From Warsaw to Lamsdorf’, completed in mid-December this year, has left a number of interesting productions, which will also be freely usable over a long period into the future, after completing of the project activities. One such result is the audio drama ‘We were here’.

The material was prepared on the basis of a research conducted by the Museum, where the leading source text was the memoirs of Barbara Lewandowska, codename ‘Wirta’ - a participant in the Warsaw Uprising who was held, like many others, in Stalag 344 Lamsdorf. On the basis of this and other POW accounts concerning the circumstances of the transport of insurgents from Ożarów to Lamsdorf, a scripted was written by Andrzej Celiński. He also directed the audio play. The production of the recordings and post-production was supervised by the VIdiFilm company, managed by Alicja Schatton-Lubos. This was no easy task, given the binaural technology used in the creation of the material, which allows for a very evocative surround sound for the audience.

The audio drama consists of a prologue and four parts - available here and on Spotify.
