Volunteers in uniform have ended their work at the memorial site

After ten days of intensive clean-up works, the Polish and German soldiers ended their presence at the Site of National Memorial in Łambinowice. The undertaking was concluded yesterday, 30 August, with an important symbolic accent in the form of a commemorative ceremony in front of the Monument to the Martyrdom of Prisoners-of-War.

The commemorative ceremony was traditionally organised on the last day of the soldiers' stay in Łambinowice. Despite its rather private nature, the ceremony was a very solemn occasion, and met with the interest of the region's authorities. It was attended by the Opole Voivode Sławomir Kłosowski, Chairman of the Opole Regional Assembly Rafał Bartek, and Antoni Konopka - a member of the Self-government of Opole Province.

After the official part in front of the Monument, the participants of the project and the invited guests went to the Museum, where the volunteer soldiers were presented with certificates of gratitude and small gifts, and in a fairly informal atmosphere discussed the course of this year's work and future plans.

Once again, we would like to express many thanks to the soldiers of the 161st Logistics Battalion in Delmenhorst and the 10th Logistics Brigade in Opole for their help!
