Volunteering at the museum's archives
The offer is aimed at all history enthusiasts who want to gain experience of working with unique documents and who care about the lasting preservation of testimonies of the past.
Your volunteering activities will include: digitising archive materials, document scanning, keeping digital inventories, graphic editing of archival documents, doing audio and video transcriptions of recordings of interviews with witnesses to history.
We expect candidates to be patient, diligent and reliable, as well as committed to their work and open to new challenges.
Don't miss this opportunity to gain work experience in a historical archive or get to know the Museum "from the inside". The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn about the history of prisoners-of-war who were held in German captivity during World War II. At the end of the co-operation, we will issue a reference and a certificate proving the volunteer involvement after completing his/her work.
The volunteering is based at the Archives of the CMJW located at 3 Minorytów Street, Opole (close to the market square and the coach and train stations). Some tasks are possible to be done online.
