Two performances - summary of the project
On Wednesday, December 17, the Office of the Opole Voivode organized a summary of this year's projects implemented within the framework of the 2017-2022 "The Independent" Multi-Year Programme. Our Museum, together with Ekostudio Theatre, participated in one of the two activities funded by the programme, which was mentioned at the press conference. Our Museum was represented by the director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the projects of the "The Independent" were embedded in cyberspace this year, what made it easier to reach a wide audience. Our idea was a screen adaptation of the play "Passed Over Words" directed by Andrzej Czernik, a work created on the initiative of the CMJW, staged many times in the hut of the former Stalag 344 Lamsdorf, and since 6 October this year, thanks to the support of the Opole Voivodeship Governor, Adrian Czubak, available, among others, at: https://youtu.be/thqZkWKCKdM. The storyline of the play is based on the prisoner-of- war "mail through the wires" of the Warsaw insurgents held in 1944 in the Lamsdorf camp.
The Museum participated, to some extent, in the creation of the second play - Planted Words", first of all, providing the director, Andrzej Czernik, with source materials concerning historical connections between the Silesian Uprisings and Lamsdorf (Łambinowice). The action of this play takes place at the end of May 1921, at the time of the Third Silesian Uprising, in the apartment of Mrs Jadwiga in Opole, who is awaiting for the return of her insurgent son, held by the Germans in Lamsdorf. The premiere of the show will take place this Sunday, December 20, at 8.30 p.m. on Ekovision TV.
W have pleasure in inviting you to watch the performances!
