Today is the premiere the fifth episode of ...but that's a different story now 2

Second Lieutenant Zdzisław Zagłoba-Zygler is the author of the memoir entitled 'Oflag as fun and sorrow'. This valuable document from Oflag II Woldenberg was given to the Museum many years ago by his sons: Lech and Zbigniew. The fate of the officer and his diary is the subject of the May episode of the 'But that's a different story now...' series.

The fifth episode of this year’s series is entitled Humour despite everything. It features, like the previous ones have, another precious object from the CMJW's collection, and together with it, the POW fate, thou not only, of the author and the way of this family keepsake to the Museum. Both the diary and  Zdzisław Zagłoba-Zygler’s outlook on life is exemplified by humour and cheerfulness – an undoubted gift that the Second Lieutenant shared with those prisoners-of-war who were with him in German captivity. But there is more than this. And what that is, viewers will learn when watching the film.

The protagonist of the film also took care to preserve the memory of the events of 1939-1945. The carefully preserved diary and the memory of his loved ones about the war, captivity and ways to cope with isolation or longing for family are the proof of this, as is the fact that he donated the document to the Museum.

You are welcome to watch the film!

Our film series was prepared thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It is produce, according to the concept of Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, by Sławomir Mielnik.

Te next episode will be released on June 27.
