The Site of Remembrance clean-up on Earth Day

Earth Day, falling on 22 April, provides an opportunity to come together to clean the historical places cared for by the Museum.

The main part of the Site of Remembrance clean-up will being on Monday (22 April) at 11.00 a.m. and will last no longer then until 2.30 p.m. but you can join us for a longer time. Those of you who wish to take part in the event will be give bags and gloves between 8.00 a.m and 3.30 p.m. in order to clean as much as possible the Remembrance Site’ area in an efficient and safe way.

The pupils of the Primary School in Łambinowice are engaged in the project. A group of about 30 children, supervised by their teacher Edyta Golec, will form the core of the action to clean up the area around the Museum. We will thank them with a bonfire and refreshments. Sponsors of the sweet and savoury snacks are: Piekarnia & Cukiernia Ryszard Szymański in Korfantow, Ewa and Adam Merda - owners of Zakład Przetwórstwa Mięsnego Merda s.c. from Konradowa near Nysa, and Edyta Misz who runs the Maxim Lewiatan Market in Łambinowice.

Jolanta Mierzyńska, director of the Community Centre for Culture, Sports and Recreation in Łambinowice, having the event's crowning bonfire in mind, will open the area and help organise it. Komunalnik sp. z o.o. from Nysa will provide bags for the found litter and collect them. This is therefore a truly social and community-integrating initiative.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic response to our idea in advance!
