The opening of exposition Z głową bez karabinu has taken place

The temporary exhibition, prepared by the General Emil Fieldorf "Nil" Home Army Museum in Kraków, will remain at our Museum in Opole until the end of January 2023. However, yesterday, 15 November, it was officially opened and presented to the guests attending the vernissage.

To see the exposition you were encouraged by the Museum Director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, and Dr. Ewelina Klimczak-Czaplicka (Department of Education and Exhibitions) who emphasized that the display is made up not only of biographies, photographs, interesting facts and achievements of 26 soldiers of the Home Army. It also contains memorabilia related to some of them, taken from of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków, the Pharmacy Museum of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum, The Prof. Stanisław Fischer Museum in Bochnia, the Provincial Public Library in Opole and private individuals.

Before the attendees, among whom the largest group were students of the Secondary School No 3 in Opole, saw the exhibition, they listened to information about the most important and interesting protagonists of it. Then, Dr. Ewelina Klimczak-Czaplicka spoke about the historian Prof. Wacław Felczar, the architect and interior designer Marian Sigmund, codename ''Nałęcz'', the architect and urban planner Stanisław Michał Jankowski, condename ''Agaton'' – a manager of The Warsaw W-Z Route, the pharmacists Jan Sawczak-Knihinicki, codename "Knihinicki", Wincenty Sawicki, and the historian Karolina Lanckorońska and the accomplished swimmer Jan Kot, codename "Janusz".
