The Museum of Ceramic in Tułowice has been officially opened!

Today, on 9 February, in the former railway station PKP building at 4 Porcelanowa Street in Tułowice, has been officially open the Muzeum Ceramiki „TUŁOWICE po kolei” [Museum of Ceramic]. The opening was attended representatives of our Museum: Deputy Director Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła, and Head of the Departament of Conservation and Collection Elżbiera Góra.

In the exhibition rooms of the institution, which is a new spot on the cultural map of Opole Province, are displayed products of Porcelit Tułowice S.A factory, dating from 1947 to 2001. Among them are table and dessert sets, cups, mugs, beer mugs, platters and vases.

We would like to remind you that in the area of Tułowice, not so far from the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice, there have been enterprises involved in the production of porcellanite and china for 210 years (since the discovery of deposits of ceramic clay). The collections gathered in the first of the museum's exhibition rooms refer precisely to this tradition, including mainly the products of the Porcelain Factory run by the Schlegelmilch family. After the outbreak of the Second World War, the factory was conducting production for the German military, including for the Lamsdorf military training ground.

The opening of the Museum is accompanied by the IV Tułowice Ceramic Day, which will last until 12 February 2023.

We wish all the best, every success and many visitors to the organisers of the Muzeum Ceramiki „TUŁOWICE po kolei”.
