The great collection of POW memorabilia is continued!

This summer holiday may be a good opportunity to find, and not only to sort-out, archival documents, photographs, and items stored in home archives. Many of them might be related to the relatives who served in the Polish army and ended up in  German or Soviet captivity during the Second World War. It is precisely such memorabilia the collection appeal, under the slogan Saved memorabilia, Preserved memory, is after.

The Museum accepts artefacts-cum-objects used or made in captivity, documents, correspondence, drawings, photographs, clothes, etc. All donations that enrich the collection will be secured and inventoried.

Those interested in donating memorabilia are invited to contact us – any proposal will be considered as soon as possible. Once the objects have been digitised, donors will receive albums with images of the memorabilia, as well as a digital record of them.

Responsible for the collection is the Department of Collections and Conservation of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War, 4 Muzealna St., 48-316 Łambinowice, tel./fax +48 77 434 34 75, e-mail: .
