The CMJW’s director in the inauguration of the Museum of Polish History

The Festival of the Opening of the Museum of Polish History - a new investment on the map of Polish culture, located on the site of Warsaw Citadel - lasted from 28 September to 1 October. Opening ceremonies were held on Thursday with the participation of state authorities, as well as representatives of the museum community. Our institution was represented by its director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska.

Later, on that same day, there was an opportunity to explore the newly opened museum during a night tour. Guided tours were continued over the next three days, and it was also possible to take part in accompanying events - film screenings and theatre performances, educational workshops, a debate on the historical museum, or a field game with historical re-enactment groups.

Currently, the PHM invites to visit the temporary exhibition 'Big and Small Stories. How the Polish History Museum’s Collection Was Built', while the opening of a permanent exhibition is still a matter of about three years away. However, there is no doubt that the institution has great potential - during the inauguration ceremony, President Andrzej Duda described it as: "the largest, the most beautiful museum in Poland at the moment, absolutely state-of-the-art", and because the investment momentum will probably be in favour of mounting by the museum the exhibition, we are awaiting the development of the institution with interest.
