Subject of the camp staff at the 'Łambinowice Museum Meetings' – invitation

Research progress made by Maria Buła from the CMJW’s Research Department has come to a point where she can confidently share her knowledge with others. This is good news indeed, because the young historian deals with a subject that is very interesting and important for a better understanding of the mechanism by which power acted in POW camps.

The opportunity to learn about the results of Maria Buła's findings will be an incoming event under the telling title: "Service like any other? The staff of the Lamsdorf POW camps in the years 1939-1945', organised on 4 October as part of the 'Łambinowice Museum Meetings' series. The speaker will pose a number of key questions to the audience, such as the psychosocial background of the attitudes of the commanders, guards and civilian employees of the Lamsdorf camps, and whether they suffered any consequences after the war.

The question of showing the perpetrators' side of the story is relatively rare in analyses of the Wehrmacht prisoner-of-war camps, and if - as in the case of our researcher - it additionally goes beyond simple factuality reduced to names and short biographies of members of the staff, it deserves special attention. Therefore, we warmly encourage you to take part in the meeting - it will be held, traditionally, in the Łambinowice seat of the Museum on the first Wednesday of the month, i.e. on 4 October, at 5 p.m.
