Report on the "Łambinowice Museum Meeting"

Not on Wednesday, as it is usually, but on Thursday 20 April, took place the "Łambinowice Museum Meeting". It was a special, primarily due to the combination of the POW theme with poetry, photography and music at the same time, meeting.

The first anthology of poem edited by Róża Bednorz was published by the Museum in 1984; the second by Harry Duda in 2001; the third a few days ago - and to this latest one was dedicated the Thursday meeting. In the third book of poems Preserved. Anthology of poems against war (poem selection: Tomasz Różycki) are published works of thirty-three authors, including those who are associated with the Opole Region, and even Łambinowice and its surroundings.

It is therefore not surprising that the meeting attracted many people interested in the theme. Following the welcome of the guests and presenting the circumstances of the anthology's publication, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska gave the floor Adriana Jarosz, one of the authors and people working on the poem collections, as well as the president of the Opole branch of the Polish Writers' Union and a juror in the POW Poetry Recitation Contest "Let's not lose our memory", while the main protagonists of the event were her colleagues and fellow writers: Danuta Babicz-Lewandowska, Edmund Borzemski, Daniela Długosz-Penca, Elżbieta Lisak-Duda, Ewa Maj-Szczygielska, Father Manfred Słaboń, Jerzy Stasiewicz, Jan Szczurek, Anna Tlałka, Bożena Tokar-Matkowska and Magdalena Wiącek. The presentation of the poems was accompanied by music performed by violist Małgorzata Rędzińska, and a multimedia show, prepared by Adriana Jarosz according to her own concept.

The meeting ended with conversations, while drinking tea and coffee, also about impressions of the newly opened pavilion, in which the guests were staying, made on them.
