
Recognition for Edmund Borzemski!
For the 21st time, Awards of the Marshal of the Opole Voivodeship for Animators and Creators of Culture, have been given. Among the laureates was Edmund Borzemski, a historian, poet, literary critic, who has been associated with our Museum and the memorial site, for many years.
The source of inspiration for his many poems has been the history of the Lamsdorf/Łambinowice camps, who the author popularized also as an employee of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War in Łambinowice-Opole (1983-1994). It was then, he initiated the Recitation Contest of POW Poetry "Let's remember”, which has had now 28th edition and is the pride of our Museum
Edmund Borzemski has already been awarded many times. He received, among others, the title of the Guardian of Sites of National Remembrance, Meritorious for the Korfantów Municipality and Honorary Citizen of the Łambinowice Community, as well as The Badge of Honour for Services to the Opole Voivodeship. He is an activist of the Opole branch of the Polish Writers' Union, the Confraternity of Poets in Krakow, the Upper Silesian Literary Society in Katowice, the Teachers' Literary Club in Opole, and the Niemodlin Regional Society.
