Rajmund Miller has passed away
It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Rajmund Miller. He was a doctor, self-government official, Member of Parliament and long-time friend of our Museum.
Rajmund Miller was a doctor by profession. He began his public activity in 1990 in the Nysa City Council. In the following years, he worked actively involved as a self-government official, being elected a councillor in the Nysa Poviat Council, and was a member of the Opole Province Assembly. In 2011, for the first time, he was elected to the Parliament. He also successfully ran for re-election at the next three parliamentary elections, participating in the work of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for a total of thirteen years. During this time, he served as, among others, a vice-chairman of the Health Committee and a member of the Social Policy and Family Committee.
He was a patron of the Museum, supporting our institution in the implementation of its mission and statutory activities. Above all, since 2015, he participated in the work of the Central Museum of Prisoners of War’ Museum Council (served three terms in total). After the establishment, on the Museum own initiative, in 2022, of the ‘League of POW Remembrance’ Network Consortium, he also became a member of its Honorary Convent.
We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the family on behalf of the staff of the Museum.
