Press conference of 14th Night of Museums in Opole

A press conference on this year's Night of Museums in Opole was held today at the Opole seat of the CMJW. The organisers presented journalists with details of the event, which will take place on 14 May. The event enjoys the honorary patronage of Opole Province Marshal Andrzej Buła, who also supported the initiative financially, and Opole City Mayor Arkadiusz Wiśniewski, whose office is involved in popularising the event.

The meeting was opened by Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła, Deputy Director of the CMJW, as a representative of the coordinating institution, who welcomed the guests. Deputy Marshall, Zbigniew Kubalańca, then took the floor, acknowledging the long history of the event, which for fourteen years has offered the local community a unique way to experience culture.

The main point of the conference were presentations of programmes of the individual institutions by: the Director, Prof. Mirosław Lenart and Dr. Aleksandra Starczewska-Wojnar (State Archive in Opole); Deputy Director, Dr. Krzysztof Kleszcz (Silesian Institute); Tomasz Ciecierski (Museum of X-ray Tube of the Opole University of Technology); Anna Rapp (Museum of Polish Song); Michał Grocholski and Agnieszka Błażuk-Dworakowska (Museum of Opole Silesia); Katarzyna Mazur-Kulesza (Opole University Museum); Director Jarosław Gałęza (Opole Village Museum); Aleksandra Śnigórska (Piast Tower and the Upper Castle, MOSiR). Meanwhile, Natalia Kryjom-Barylak from the Section of Communication and Public Image talked about the programme of the CMJW.
