Poetry competition’s finale is approching

On Friday, 12 April 2024, the Museum’s seat in Łambinowice will be filled with young enthusiasts of the art of recitation. This year, for the 31st time, the Museum is organising the POW Poetry Recitation Competition Let's not lose our memory. The number of entries indicates that this is an event that invariably attracts numerous students wishing to meet the challenge of the interpretation of this difficult poetry.

79 students from various educational institutions in the Opole Province - starting from fourth graders to 18-year-olds - will take part in the competition. Each participant will present two poetic works of his/her choice on the theme of Nazi or Stalinist camps, in particular POW ones. Their performances will be listened to by a jury consisting of actors, educators and poetry writers and critics.

Attention: On the day of the competition, a coach will be going from Opole to Łambinowice at 7.45 a.m. Those who wish to use our transport are asked to be in the car park in front of "Toropol" on Barlickiego Street in Opole at 7.30. We still have a few seats available (contact: tel. 77 434 34 75, e-mail: ).

Also, we would like to inform you that the Museum in Łambinowice will be closed for visitors during the competition, whom we ask for their understanding - we wish to ensure the best possible comfort for the participants on what will certainly be a stressful day for them.
