Our publications at the Book Festival in Opole
The Book Festival in Opole is a cultural event with an already established reputation, so we are even more pleased to be part of it once again as exhibitors. Between 2 and 4 June, we are presenting our publishing offer - this year it includes 38 titles and the latest issues of the Łambinowice Museum Yearbook, as well as - and here a novelty - a selection of museum souvenirs that have been recently introduced.
The event, organised by the Inspiracji.pl Factory Foundation, financially supported by the City of Opole with the help of sponsors, attracted more than a hundred publishers specialising in a wide variety of literature - from children's books to popular in Poland detective stories and offers from, for example, the Sejm Publishing House, the Silesian Institute (with which we share a stand) and ours.
The festival is a true celebration of books in Opole. The spirit of the event can best be felt during the meetings with authors. Two of them in particular caught our attention: with the populariser of science Andrzej Dragan and Magdalena Grzebałkowska, with whom we have had the pleasure of cooperating, and who recently surprised readers by writing, together with Ewa Winnicka, a funny and wise book on an entirely non-historical subject.
Let’s go back to our publications again - well, not all of them are strictly historical and academic in nature. For those less interested in pure history facts content (here the bestseller is our 'List of German prisoner-of-war camps 1939-1945'), we recommend, among other things, reading the recently published book of poems 'Preserved. Anthology of poems against war' and its predecessor 'Against Violence. A selection of poems edited by Harry Duda'. There will also be suggestions for lovers of painting or philately.
