Once more about the Upper Silesian Tragedy
Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła will take part in a meeting entitled ‘The Upper Silesian Tragedy - Civilian Victims of the War’, organised by the Museum of Opole Silesia on 20 February 2025 at 5 p.m.
The meeting will be about the fate of the civilian population of Silesia in 1945. Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła will make an introduction to ‘The Upper Silesian Tragedy - the historical context’ theme. Guests will have the opportunity to watch the documentary film ‘Nieopowiedziany [untold] 45’, a poignant portrayal of the events of January 1945, when the Red Army entered Opole Silesia. The emotional baggage carried by the documentary stems, among other things, from the fact that witnesses from the villages of Boguszyce and Źlinice give their accounts of the events. Although they were small children at the time, the trauma of these events accompanies them to this day. The screening will be accompanied by a discussion with the director, Marcin Tumulka. The meeting will be chaired by Antoni Maziarz, an associate professor at the University of Opole.
You are welcome to take part in the event! Admission is free.
