National Independence Day at the Museum

This year the 11th of November at the Museum was dominated by two events: a meeting in the Old Prisoners-of-War Cemetery, and the presentation of our temporary exhibition, In foreign uniforms. Poles – prisoners of the First World War, in a school.

Ranko Tomović, Serbian Honorary Consul to Poland, accompanied by his two compatriots who have been living in Poland for many years, paid his customary visit to the Łambinowice necropolis, so they can together pay their respects at the graves of around six thousand soldiers of the Entente countries. The visitors laid a wreath in front of the Monument to Serbian Prisoners-of-War, and also met with the Museum's Deputy Director Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła and representatives of the local community.

Another accent connected with the National Independence Day was the presence of our exhibition In foreign uniforms. Poles – prisoners of the First World War at the School and Kindergarten Complex in Olesnica. The exhibition was presented on 10 November during a curatorial tour by our colleague Michał Jakubik. It will be on display there until 17 November.
