Museum full of history

We are a history museum, so well-told stories are our specialty. We are interested not only in objects, which we can show in showcases, but most of all in the people to whom they belonged. We have two seats – in the centre of Opole (by the Młynówka canal), and in Łambinowice – a village in the Niemodlin Forests. You are invited to visit both of them to see exhibitions, attend educational activities, and also – in the case of Łambinowice – for excursions into the forest.

Not so ordinary forest, but such which hides moving stories about people from almost all over the world who, starting from the 19th century (!), not on their own free will, got here in times of successive wars – as captured soldiers, and after them as displaced people.

The Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice is a vast area which is worth to get to know in an active way, for instance on bicycles lent from us. Taking the historical-natural path guided tour, one can get familiar not only with interesting facts, but most of all, to experience the spirit of the place where traces of history intertwine with lush nature. Its uniqueness has been appreciated also outside our country – 2 years ago it became a part of the prestigious European Heritage Label network.

You are invited to get acquainted with out holiday offer.
