More on the new museum definition
In Friday, on 21 October, at the seat of The National Museum of Ethnography in Warsaw took place a debate about the new museum definition adopted during the August General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in Prague.
The debate, to which we listened attentively, did not only revolve around the very definition of museum, but also provided an opportunity to discuss other important topics, such as sustainable development and climate change, leadership or new technologies in museums. The panel – alongside the Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Paulina Florjanowicz - was attended by representatives of the museum community: Jolanta Gumula, Hanna Wróblewska, Martyna Sowińska-Pasek vel Paszkowska and Robert Zydel.
