
Meeting with archaeologist David Kobialka
On Thursday, 13 October, a meeting entitled Archaeology at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice - works in 2022, took place at the Opole seat of the Museum. The event was part of the first stage of excavation works on the former site of Stalag VIII B (344) Lamsdorf, which ended this August.
The excavations referred to by Dr. Dawid Kobiała were part of a wide-ranging scientific project 'Science for society, society for science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice' conducted by the Museum and financially backed by the Ministry of Education and Science. During the lecture, the speaker devoted most attention to the methods of archaeological research used during the first months of the works, and the initial results. The presentation was complemented by the premiere screening of a film documenting the works which have been already done.
The event was also attended by other members of the research team: Kamil Karski, Adam Lokś, Dr. Michał Paweleta, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska. The invitation to the meeting was accepted by numerous students of the Institute of Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Opole.
