Meeting on “Art and War” – invitation

Until 26 February 2024, at our Opole seat, you can visit the temporary exhibition “Poster against War”. It is on view every day (except Saturdays and Sundays) between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. But that is not all - we would also like to invite you to an interesting event that will accompany the exhibition.

The meeting entitled “Art and War” will take place on 23 February at 5 p.m. in the Museum building at 3 Minorytów St., and apart from viewing the exhibition, it will include a presentation of its exegesis; besides, Joanna Filipczyk will talk to Romuald Jeziorowski about the social power of posters, seeking answers to the question as to whether they can make a difference, and also about the role of artists towards armed conflicts, human injustice and misdeeds. The meeting will be concluded with a subtle confrontation with the poetry of Harry Duda, Serhiy Zhadan and Lina Kostenko as interpreted by Harry Duda and Victoria Bakasova.

The presentation of the exhibition is co-organised with the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and the Branch of Opole Province of the Association for Polish-Eastern Cooperation. It enjoys the patronage of Irena Pordzik, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Opole, who will take part in the meeting.

You are cordially invited to visit the exhibition! Admission is free.
