
Meeting of the Museum Council
The annual meeting of members of the Council, which was established by the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War, was held on 11 June at the Museum's seat in Łambinowice. Some of its the members attended the meeting online.
Currently, the Board of the Museum Council consists of its Chairman Marek Masnyk, Vice-Chairwoman Danuta Kisielewicz and Secretary Edmund Nowak. The Council has 11 members. They are specialists in fields such as museology, history and social sciences or the management of institutions associated with collective memory.
On the agenda of the last Council meeting was, among other things, a communiqué from the Museum Director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, regarding the activities of the institution in the previous year and the ongoing plan of work for 2025. In addition, an important item on the agenda was information given by the Director of the Department of Culture and Regional Heritage of the UMWO, Agnieszka Kamińska, on the current state of affairs regarding the change of the statutes of the Museum in connection with the intention of registration of it in the State Register of Cultural Institutions.
During the Council meeting, Elżbieta Góra, Head of the Department of Collections and Conservation, presented the CMJW’s collections policies for 2025-2030, while after the closing there was an opportunity to show the guests the new infrastructure of the Museum.
