Meeting of directors of cultural institutions of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MkiDN)

The programme of the Gathering included speeches and discussions on Museum-related issues, visits to the museums and the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice. On the first day, the guest of honour was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Professor Piotr Gliński who was accompanied the Undersecretary of State in the MkiDN, Dr. Jarosław Selin, as well as Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Piotr Szpanowski, and Director of the National Institute for Museums and Public Collections (NIMOZ), Dr. Paulina Florjanowicz, the originator of the Meeting.

The discussions were held in several sessions. The first was dedicated to presenting the most important changes in the organization of the work of the MkiDN, while the second to the activities and plans of the NIMOZ. The second day provided an opportunity to reflect on the directions of development of Polish museums, and in the follow-up sessons the floor was given to several speakers. Our Museum was represented by the Director, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska (she was involved in the panel Challenges in organizing exhibitions and communications from DDK institutions), and Dr. Anna Czerner (in the panel On memory in many ways). In addition, the guests had the opportunity to learn more about the Site of National Remembrance and the exhibitions. The evening part of the meeting was already planned in Opole - it was marked by talks and a recital by Jarosław Wasik.

The meeting ended today with a tourist accent - our guests, many of whom were in Opole for the first time, toured the city and got acquainted with the exhibitions of the CMJW, the Museum of Opole Silesia and the Museum of Polish Song.
