To Uncle General – the fourth instalment of the series ...but that’s a different story now

The last Monday of each month, until the end of 2021, is reserved for the premiere of another episode of our film series ... but that's that’s a different story now. Those of you who follow the Museum's Facebook were the first to see the film, but now the invitations to watch it, is extended to the readers of our website.

To Uncle General tells the story of how children’s cards, made in 1943 by children from the kindergarten in Kraśnik, who were in Jadwiga Suska’s charge, became the beginning of an extraordinary story about strength, courage, ingenuity and altruism. The story, discovered step by step by the employees of the CMJW, was an inspiration to make an educational project Dzieci listy piszą [Children write letters]. Therefore, in the documentary presented below you can hear Dr. Renata Kobylarz-Buła and Krystyna Duda, who were involved in the project.

The series was prepared by us at the end of 2020 thanks to the "Culture Available" programme of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The idea, according to the concept of Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, was realized by Sławomir Mielnik.
