Place with a scar has been nominated for award!

The Place with a scar  exposition in the location of the former Stalag 318/VIII F(344) Lamsdorf has been shortlisted for the final of National Open Competition ‘Modernizacja Roku & Budowa XXI w.’ [‘Modernisation of the Year & Construction of the 21st Century’]. This is a success of the Museum – the originator, co-author and investor of the exposition – an institution which cares for the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice.

The nomination is also an appreciation of the idea of arranging the exposition, i.e. the work of Artur Lubos, Marek Krajewski and Alicja Schatton-Lubos, as well as the construction project by MAW studio, and ALFA-EDGAR Witkowski i Woroniecki, sp. j. Wrocław company.

Let us remind you that the Place with a scar is an exposition, opened on 17 March 2022, in the location of the so-called Russenlager, a place from the Second World War and where a camp from the First World War was. It is composed of elements so-called small architecture: a model of the camp site, timeline, information guides, the so-called Wall of Reflection and the artistic installation ‘Presence’, as well as the exhibition and educational part in a partially reconstructed hut.

Due to the nomination the Place with a scar has been listed on interactive map of Poland together with an individual tag of the object I Etap XXVI Edition.

The exhibition was made owing to the funds from the European Regional Development Fund under the Opole Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020 and the Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport, from the Promesa Programme.
