On guard of the borders... Online opening

This Monday, March 15, at 12.00 a.m., the opening a temporary exhibition called On guard of the borders.... Border Guards of the Second Republic of Poland on the Western Section of the Polish-German border, prepared by the Opole branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, will take place. An interesting complement to the exhibition are exhibits from the collections of our Museum and memorabilia from the private collection of Tadeusz Pruchniewski. The event will be streamed online on the Museum's Facebook and YouTube channels.

The exhibition, which is curated by Dr. Ksawery Jasiak, describes the challenges faced by border guards at the dawn of the Second Polish Republic. The exhibition presents, among others, the activities of the Border Guard after the end of the First World War. It is also dedicated to the fate of border officers during World War II. The presentation falls on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the modern Border Guard.

Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, Director of the CMJW, Renata Wojciechowska, acting Head of the IPN Branch in Opole, and Colonel Adam Jopek, Commander of the Silesian Border Guard Regional Unit in Racibórz invite to watch the vernissage and for individual visits. The exhibition, under the honorary patronage of the Minister of National Defence, will be presented in our Opole seat at 3 Minorytów Street, until April 30 of this year.
