Invitation to the opening of the exhibition ‘Encounters. With the history of Polish children of Siberia’

This Wednesday, 13 November, at 1 p.m., we are organising the opening of a temporary exhibition, hosted at the Opole seat of the Museum, thanks to the cooperation with the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology.

The history of the making of the exhibition will be presented by Katarzyna Nowak, director of the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology. The context is particularly important in this case, as the exhibition has a typically artistic character, built around an image - it is composed of works created by Polish artists during their study stays in Japan. It is no coincidence that we begin with its presentation in November, when we recall the anniversary of the end of World War I and the rebirth of the Polish state after 123 years of non-existence.

It is certainly a good idea to attend the opening in order to gain a broader knowledge of the factual background of the works on display: the story of the children of Polish exiles, saved from the terror of communism in the areas of Siberia and Manchuria between 1919 and 1923 thanks to an international rescue operation in which Japan played a leading role.

You are cordially invited to see the exhibition. It's really worth it!
