Invitation to the opening of temporary exposition Z głową bez karabinu...

The director of the Central Museum of Prisoners-of-War, Dr. Violetta Rezler-Wasielewska, and the director of The General Emil Fieldorf "Nil" Home Army Museum in Kraków, Dr. Marek Lasota, invite to the opening of the temporary exposition Z głową bez karabinu – powojenne dokonania żołnierzy AK [With their head around and no gun – post-war achievements of soldiers of the Home Army]. The opening will take place on 15 November at 1 p.m., at the Museum in Opole, at 3 Minorytów Street.

The exhibition features the post-war achievements of 26 soldiers of the Home Army, including constructors, inventors, artists, sportsmen, as well as people involved socially and politically, e.g.: the theatre, film and television star Irena Kwiatkowska (1912-2011) ; outstanding swimmer Jan Kot (1906-1992) or Wacław Felczak (1916-1993), respected historian and professor at the Jagiellonian University. All of them had in common their service in the ranks of the Home Army, and some were also detained in POW camps. The information and photographs are enriched by valuable memorabilia from the collections of Marian Sigmund's family, the Archive of Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków, the Pharmacy Museum of the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum, The Prof. Stanisław Fischer Museum in Bochnia, and the Provincial Public Library in Opole.

The exhibition, prepared by the Home Army Museum, will be open to the public until the end of January 2023, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. And 5:00 p.m.
