Invitation to Science Picnic

In the upcoming week, on 29 May, we will take part in the next Opole Science Picnic. The CMJW's stand will be located at Copernicus Square (Plac Kopernika), in front of the main building of Opole University. The event starts at 4 p.m., and will last until 10 p.m.

The Opole Science Picnic is one of the key items of the programme of the annual event called the Opole Science Festival, organised next to, among others, the Night of Science and meetings at schools and social media. The message, around which we wish to focus our participants' attention this time, will is related to Witold Pilecki – the protagonist of the latest Museum's publication. The author of the book, Dr. Piotr Stanek, will run the quiz "Facts about the Rittmeister" (FOR) in two ways which differ in the difficulty of the questions: for everyone (FOR everyone) and for experts (FOR experts). The English language is welcomed here, as we are hoping for interest from foreign students, as well as visitors from Ukraine.

The quiz will be closely connected with the promotion of the publication "Witold Pilecki. Prisoner-of -War No. 101892", and for that reason the correct answers for the most challenging questions will be awarded with copies of the book. Those who will not be lucky in the knowledge test, will be able to purchase the publication at a discount prize. In addition, museum souvenirs like bags, T-shirts, bags and postcards, will be on sale.

We cordially invite you to attend it and wish you good luck in our quiz with prizes!
