Invitation to educational session
An annual, teacher-orientated session If not memory, then what? Education at places of national remembrance is an important point in the calendar of our Museum. This year it is scheduled for 13 June under the titled Places with a scar - how to tame them educationally?
Formed in that way, the subject of the session prompted us to choose a special location – the venue is in Łambinowice, and its participants will have the opportunity to find out in reality what education in the titled "place with a scar" is all about, as well as to see how our educational facilities look like after the completion of the new facility.
We invite to the session not only history teachers, but also other subjects like languages, ethic, religion, and psychologists. We will focus on presenting unconventional methods of working with a very subtle and difficult matter: collective memory relating to World War II. We have invited experts in museology, archaeology and psychology to join us. An important part of the session will be the showcase of workshops at the open air exhibition Place with a Scar, and the last point will be the final of the 15th edition of the national contest for historical project Before It's Not too Late - an opportunity to get familiar with the results of works of your fellow students and perhaps gain inspiration for your own ideas.
Participants will be provided with bus transportation from and to Opole. On the way back we will visit the newly opened Museum of Ceramic in Tułowice. Participation is free of charge. You are very welcome to participate in the session!
