Invitation to a series of archaeological walks

This Wednesday, 5 July, sees the launch of a new educational initiative by the Museum - the result of cooperation with archaeologists from several Polish academic centres and memorial sites within the framework of the Science for Society, Society for Science at the Site of National Remembrance in Łambinowice” project.

This is a series of archaeological tours whose name “Lessons from Reading the Landscape” indicates the theme of the meetings. It will concern the traces left in the contemporary landscape of the Łambinowice forests by prisoner-of-war camps. It should be noted that these are traces that are often hardly visible, obliterated by the passage of time - lush vegetation, human and animal activity and natural processes in the forest environment have unstoppably changed this landscape year after year, so expert guidance is essential to read them.

The starting point for the walks on 5, 12 and 19 July, at 5 p.m., is outside the building of the Museum in Łambinowice. The tours will be given by archaeologists: Dr. Dawid Kobiałka, Kamil Karski and Adam Lokś. Participation is free and open to everyone regardless of age.

We invite you to take part in them, and ask you to dress appropriately for forest wandering!
