Invitation to a carol concert with the historical context

The concert ‘Lulajże Jezuniu na polskiej ziemi. Opowieści świąteczne [Hush now, baby Jesus on Polish soil. Christmas Carols’ is not only an opportunity to sing carols together, but also a meeting with history and culture of the nation. We will hear both popular carols, adored by generations, and those less known but still beautiful at the same time, while revealing the patriotic face of sacred and folk music.

The event, in the organisation of which we are supporting the Institute of National Remembrance together with the parish priest of Łambinowice, Father Piotr Bałos, will take place on 24 January at 5.30 p.m. in the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Łambinowice. Carols and pastorals will be performed by Józef Pawłowski, accompanied by multi-instrumentalists from the ‘Ludwik Sarski Orchestra’ ensemble - a musical group founded by Damian Szymczak and Piotr Tomala, which combines klezmer, early jazz and ragtime with swing and tango. The vocalist is an actor known from many film and television productions, particularly popular in historical films (including ‘Miasto 44’ and ‘Wojenne dziewczyny’), who has worked with the musicians of ‘Ludwik Sarski Orchestra’ on more than one occasion, including a recording of his own interpretation of ‘Piosenka o mojej Warszawie’, remade for the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising.

We invite you to take this extraordinary musical journey in time!
