Crumbs from the past - the eleventh episode of the Museum's film series
The next, November episode of the "...but that's a different story now 2" series is dedicated to an interesting and hitherto unrepresented set of museum artefacts of the CMJW, namely objects found in the post-camp areas. The eleventh episode is about artefacts found in the remains of Stalag 318/VIII F (344) Lamsdorf.
In the film, Mariusz "Cuba" Kubacki, an expolorer and leader of exploration works, talks about an efficient systematics, logistic and cooperation with the exploration societies - the key elements that influenced the most thorough search of the former camp area prior to the construction and conservation work. Meanwhile, Elżbieta Góra, head of the Department of Collections and Conservation and coordinator of the research work, talks about what was found and what makes up the nearly 1,500 collection of museum artefacts today. Above all, the film presents the past of one of the objects found - a military canteen and its owner, Shaliko Babayev from Georgia, and thus the interesting work of the museum workers.
